EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Supervisor:
The executive director reports to Dan Heist and the Grantwell Advisory Board.
Purpose:
The executive director is responsible for carrying out the Grantwell mission and vision and implementing the values into the program’s operations. The executive director helps members see the importance of their work, and ensures member success through educational, team, and professional development.
Position Overview
The Executive Director leads Grantwell by implementing its mission, vision, and values in all aspects of the program. This role supports student success through leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with both the Executive Team and Advisory Board.
Key Responsibilities:
Reports on progress and challenges Grantwell is facing to the Advisory Board
Facilitate mentorship between SPOs and advisory Board
Support Student Project Officers (SPOs) and other team members
Coordinate and lead Executive Team meetings and planning efforts
Work with the Executive Team to establish the framework for the year’s program, including team charter and goals
Represent Grantwell in communications with university leadership and external stakeholders
Address challenges and resolve problems as they arise
Coordinate Alumni efforts
Supervise the budget each semester
Train and transition the incoming Executive Director
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week during Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer semesters. Required to attend all Grantwell and MPA 659R meetings and classes.
